DISCOVER THE ENDURO TRAILS WHICH SURROUND ALPE TOGNOLA

Valsorda is a small valley that connects Alpe Tognola to the nearby Vanoi Valley heading south-west, just in front of the huge massif of Cima d’Asta. Partly located within the natural reserve of the Parco Naturale Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino, this area shows an environment of rare beauty, while it offers several path to walk or ride on during summer.
This path is remember for the legendary Transalp “San Martino di Castrozza – Crespano del Grappa” leg; part of the trail has been renovated in summer 2013, and offers the Bikers unique features, like the presence of wooden walkways over the marshlands and an excellent flow.

After the first stretch, the trail divides into three different trails which permit to reach the Vanoi Valley.

The Valsorda Enduro Routes

Valsorda Enduro Trail – Malga Fiamèna

Valsorda Enduro Trail – Val Zortei is a fun and varied Enduro trail which requires a good training.  Valsorda is an Enduro trail renovated in autumn 2013, which from Alpe Tognola goes down towards Caoria and the Vanoi valley, continuing on the meadows of Scandola and the ‘masi’ of Tognola.
From the Tognola Gondola upper station (2200 m), follow the forest road to Malga Tognola (1988 m). From here up to the Valsorda forest house, the path has been recently renovated and rebuilt with bridges and wooden walkways in order to ride over marshlands, before getting into the Valsorda woods having fun on an excellent flow. From the forest house, continue towards Malga Valsorda (1918m) on the forest road, to finally reach the Valsorda saddle (2094 m) on the 390 path. This stretch is particularly difficult, because you have to push your bike for about 20 minutes up to the Valsorda saddle. From here, ride on an ancient track, which run along the mountain side. After about 30 minutes, the beautiful descent leads to Malga Fiamena (1752 m), and from here you come back on the forest road towards the crossroads with Malga Boalon (1686 m) and then Zortea (1030 m).

RETURN TO SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA

1) From Zortea, ride up to Calaita Lake (1621 m) on a very steep road, from there continue heading to San Martino di Castrozza (1467 m) on the unpaved road passing Malga Crel;

2) From Zortea, to Passo Gobbera (989 m) and once on the Pass, take the Via Nova path heading to Fiera di Primiero on a gentle slope (717 m). From here you can take the bus or a taxi to San Martino di Castrozza, or it is possible to ride up to Pezze Alte (990 m) where the unpaved road to San Martino di Castrozza starts, passing through Dismoni (1200 m) Malga Crel and returns to San Martino di Castrozza (1467 m);

3) From Caoria, public transport (check the Trentino Trasporti timetable) or taxi service.

1) From Caoria, ride towards Canal San Bovo (717 m) on the state road, then ride up to Calaita Lake (1621 m) on a very steep road, from there continue heading to San Martino di Castrozza (1467 m) on the unpaved road passing Malga Crel;

2) From Caoria, ride to Canal San Bovo (717 m), take the road to Passo Gobbera (989 m) and once you get on the Pass, take the Via Nova path heading to Fiera di Primiero (717 m). From Primiero you can take the bus or a taxi to San Martino di Castrozza, or it is possible to ride up to Pezze Alte (990 m) where the unpaved road leading to San Martino di Castrozza starts, passing through Dismoni (1200 m) Malga Crel and returns to San Martino di Castrozza (1467 m);

3) From Caoria, public transport (check the Trentino Trasporti timetable) or taxi service.
